Massage therapists are often trained to predominately focus on muscle tissue when working with client’s pain and injury patterns. Recently, there has been an explosion of interest and mounting evidence of how connective tissues work in conjunction with musculature to create movement and transmit information. What is becoming more clear from a scientific standpoint is the importance of fascia in the body and how it relates to movement limitations, pain, general health and wellbeing.

This course is designed to bring to life the amazing connectivity of the fascial net and its importance to the field of massage therapy. You will learn up to date scientifically sound information regarding the fascinating properties of fascia and understand how it relates to the work you are already doing with clients. Fascial based therapies can create profound impacts on the body and in many cases get to the root cause of dysfunction. This course is a wonderful introduction to the relative concepts and current knowledge of the fascial net. Learn how to effectively work with this wonderfully mysterious body-wide web.

  • palpation techniques to distinguish and assess distinct layers of fascia
  • application of hands on therapies designed to address fascial restrictions

What to bring: Please bring a massage table, rolling stool, sheets, a bolster/ pillow and lubricant (cream or lotion based). If you are unable to bring a massage table, please let us know in the Order Notes section at checkout. We will need one massage table for every two people attending.
