How much of your anatomy knowledge has slipped away since massage school? How often do you revisit your study of anatomy and kinesiology?

Knowledge of anatomy is not only essential for massage therapists, it is the cornerstone of safe and effective bodywork. An excellent understanding of anatomy and kinesiology allows you to see beneath your hands, making your touch both intelligent and skillful. Where are you working? What muscle are you contacting? What action does it do? How can this information assist you in providing the most appropriate and useful treatment? The greater your palpatory literacy, the more proficient and successful you will be in your massage career.

This course provides a hands-on anatomy refresher as well as advanced palpation skills to safely access, assess, and treat deep structures of the body. You will gain clarity and confidence in contacting musculature not generally covered in entry-level trainings.

This one-day class will cover:
  • Anatomy of the lumbar spine, pelvis, and lower extremity
  • Kinesiology of the lumbar spine, hip, knee, and ankle
  • Palpation techniques to identify and differentiate superficial and deep structures
  • Hands on techniques to treat specific deep structures of the lower body
